Washington Youth Alliance is proud to call ourselves a truly statewide organization, and as such prioritizes hiring individuals who are rooted in community and can bring their experiences to our youth-led organization. Washington Youth Alliance Overview: We are Washington’s only truly youth-led 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and State PAC that builds authentic statewide youth power by transforming young people's stories and lived experiences into action, creating youth-led chapters that educate, advocate, and organize for mental health support, gun violence prevention, access to a healthier democracy, and other systemic changes young people need. We envision a world where Washington is designed to serve the needs of and address problems specific to young people, and where young people are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape systems so it continues to address issues that impact young people. What do we define as youth-led? We define youth-led as having young people ages 13-24, but particularly those not in College, at the center of everything we are doing and hope to do. Our boards are 85% under the age of 24 with 33.3% being under the age of 18 and from local chapters. Position Overview: The Data Operations Associate is the person who makes sure our records can be trusted. This position cleans and standardizes existing records, builds the routines that keep new data accurate on the way in, pulls the lists and reports the rest of the team runs on, and writes down how our systems work so the next person doesn't have to guess. The role reports to the Chief of Staff. Data Entry, Imports and Reconciliation Audit existing records across our fundraising databases to find and resolve duplicates, incomplete entries, outdated contact information, and inconsistent formatting Standardize how names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, are recorded, and apply those standards consistently Enter data in CRM including but not limited to staff’s interactions with donors and donor’s responses Run regular check-ups on data quality and flag patterns that point to a problem upstream in how information is being collected Documentation & Reporting Maintain appropriate separation of records across our 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and State PAC entities, following the guidance you receive from staff Reconcile records between systems (spreadsheets, CRM, email tools, forms) so the same person isn't three different people to us Pull lists, segments, and simple reports for organizing, communications, and fundraising staff Build and maintain lightweight dashboards or trackers that show membership, chapter growth, and engagement over time Write and update plain-language documentation for how our systems work: naming conventions, entry procedures, and step-by-step guides Suggest improvements to intake forms and collection processes that reduce cleanup work later What we are looking for: Excellent attention to detail and genuine patience for careful, repetitive work; you notice when something is slightly off and you care enough to fix it Comfort working in spreadsheets, and interest in learning a CRM or database (no prior experience with a specific platform required) Sound judgment and discretion handling confidential member, donor, and financial information Clear, non AI generated writing, particularly for documentation other people will have to follow The ability to work independently, ask questions when something is ambiguous, and hold several threads at once in a small, fast-moving team Comfortable working in ambiguity and a "start up" environment Interest in youth civic engagement and in building youth power in Washington This is an entry-level role. We expect to train the right person on our systems, and we welcome applicants who are early in their careers including college students. You do not need a background in data, statistics, or computer science, and you do not need to know how to code. Equal Opportunity Employer Washington Youth Alliance, the Action Fund, and the Future Fund are equal opportunity employers. We don't discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration or citizenship status, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran or military status, marital or family status, pregnancy, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, Washington State, or local law. We're a youth-led organization, and we know the strongest movements are built by people whose communities are usually left out of the room. We strongly encourage applications from young people, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, immigrants, people from rural communities, and people who have never worked at a nonprofit before. If you need an accommodation at any point in the application or interview process, email us at Operations@washingtonyouthalliance.org #J-18808-Ljbffr
